Common questions: new myWellness program
Thousands of you caught the myWellness “Buzz” this week by jumping on board the relaunch of the completely upgraded myWellness program. There’s lots of talk on our Northwell Life Facebook page, friend requests are filling inboxes, we’re tracking our mood, sleep and steps, plus, we’re in challenges with new friends! What a great start!
Every new program brings with it some questions. Here’s what you need to know:
You can access myWellness, powered by Virgin Pulse, online (Northwell.edu/myWellness) or with the Virgin Pulse mobile app. Download the app to your mobile device to quickly earn points, review your goals and keep you connected to your challenges in myWellness.
How can I turn off Friend Requests in my inbox? When at your desktop, go to your PROFILE dropdown (far right corner). Click on MY PROFILE. Scroll down to Email Preferences. Turn off ”Friend Invites”.
How can I turn off Friend Requests on my phone? Once you’ve downloaded the Virgin Pulse app, tap on the three bars (upper left corner) to reveal your site map. Click on App Settings, then under Notifications, turn off “Friend Invite Notifications”. All Friend Requests will continue to appear directly on the site on your desktop or app.
Did I lose myRecognition points from this year? I don’t see them. All myRecognition points are still recorded, and they appear on Northwell.edu/myRecognition.
Can I sync my personal activity tracker to myWellness? Absolutely. Using your personal desktop, connect using the links to many popular personal trackers by going to your Profile dropdown (far right corner) and clicking on DEVICES & APPS. On the Virgin Pulse app, click on the three bars (upper left corner) to the site map, then tap on Devices & Apps for the full listing of links. Please note, you will not be able to sync your device to myWellness from a Northwell desktop due to security limits.
How do I order my free Max activity tracker? At your desktop, you might see a REMINDER CARD with an image of the Max device, or you can go to your PROFILE dropdown (far right corner), and click on STORE. Once you complete the order information, it will reflect a $0 balance due.
Is my information private? All information you provide within the myWellness program is private and confidential. The myWellness program is powered by our partner, Virgin Pulse, and all information is protected within our relationship.

do we have to pay shipping and handling for free max activity tracker?
Good afternoon, sorry for the delayed reply. You are not responsible for shipping and handling of the free Max Buzz. It is free shipping and handling.

When i try to order my FREE maxbuzz, i am asked for credit card information. Why is it not coming up as free?

where do we redeem our points
Hello Gale,
The points you accrue by participating in myWellness, roll-over as reward points to the myRecognition program. For each level you complete within the myWellness program, those are transferred over to myRecognition on a weekly basis. To redeem points, simply log in to Northwell.edu/myRecognition to review your account and see what you’re eligible for.
